2019 is here, which means it is time to start thinking about New Year’s resolutions (Perhaps you have broken a few already!). The start of a new year is the perfect time to begin again, and the perfect opportunity to improve your life. This article will list 5 easy-to-achieve resolutions from hair extensions to meditation, and offer tips on how you can realistically achieve them.

Weight Loss

This is without a doubt the most common resolution for Americans, and the one that is most often broken. It helps to have a specific goal in mind, and to start small. For example, you could resolve to lose five pounds by February. When you step on the scale on February 1 and see that you have achieved that goal, it will give you the confidence boost you need to keep on losing. At this point, you could increase your goal to, say, an additional ten pounds by March. This is a great way to lose weight in a healthy, achievable manner. Remember, weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint. Another thing to remember: joining the gym is important, but sustainable weight loss comes from healthy eating as well.

Makeover

This is an easy resolution to achieve because you can literally do it all in a day. You can get your nails done, get a new wardrobe, get your hair cut and styled, and – for added length and body – purchase a hidden crown topper. Voila! Resolution accomplished.

Save More/Pay Down Debt

Financial resolutions are also very popular at this time of year, nearly as popular as health/weight loss related resolutions. As with weight loss, the goal is to affect a lifestyle change that you can maintain for years to come. Again, it helps to start small. Make it a goal to save a few dollars in the first month (or pay down a small portion of your debt) and then build on that. As the months go on, and you become more disciplined, you will find that the savings will snowball, and your financial situation will be so much healthier.

Meditation

Many Americans resolve to start meditating at this time of year. This is good because mental/emotional wellbeing is every bit as important as physical wellbeing, and meditation can bring order and calmness into your life. As with physical exercise, this needs to become a daily habit. We recommend meditating at the same time each day, either in the morning, evening, or even on your work lunch break.

Taking Up A New Hobby

This is one of the more fun New Year’s resolutions that we can think of. Is there something that you have always wanted to learn, but were afraid to try? This is the perfect time to finally take up that new hobby or learn that new skill. Brainstorming helps: create a list of hobbies and choose the one that is most appealing to you. It also helps to join groups of like-minded hobbyists. For example, if your goal is to write fiction, you could join a writer’s group in your area.
