Sometimes you just need to give your topper or wig a little boost! Remember that the hair on your hair pieces is not attached to a human scalp anymore so it is not getting those natural oils that your biological hair is getting. That is why it is essential to add moisture back into the hair and never do anything to take moisture away!

You don't have to be a certified stylist to take excellent care of your hair piece! Here are some simple tips to make sure it stays as fresh and new as the day you got it!

1. Do not wash more than every 4+ weeks. This can dry the hair out over time.

2. When you do wash it, make sure to let the conditioner sit on it for 10-20 minutes before rinsing it out with ice cold water.

3. After washing is complete, use a heat protectant and leave in conditioner on the hair.

4. When blow drying, do not go higher than medium heat. When using hot tools, do not exceed 320-350 degrees. Heat damages hair so the less heat, the better.

5. Lightly mist with Moroccanoil finishing spray once styling is complete. We do not recommend any other hairsprays. This hairspray is lightweight and flexible and does not contain any ingredients that could potentially dry the hair out.

6. DO NOT use any volumizing products or powders like you might have used in your own hair. These products can weigh the hair down and cause product build up over time.

7. Add a small amount of Argan Oil Serum to the ends to keep them frizz free! You only need a dime size amount and just finger comb the product through the ends. Too much and it will look oily!

8. DO NOT swim or sleep in your piece! This is when you should store your piece on your mannequin head or in your silk bag.

9. We ONLY recommend using Moroccanoil and Lauren Ashtyn professional products on your pieces. These products are paraben free, alcohol free, and sulfate free. They will help ensure the hair stays healthy and hydrated!
