You do not have to wear our hair to use it

This is the part most brands will not tell you. Human hair is human hair. Our shampoo, conditioner, moisture repair spray, heat protectant, argan oil serum and root coverage powder work on any brand of human hair topper, wig or extension, wherever you bought it, and they are safe on your own growing hair as well. If you already own a piece from somewhere else and you are not sure what to wash it with, this is the answer.

Why a hairpiece needs different products from your own hair

Your own hair is fed constantly by oil from your scalp, and it regrows. A human hair topper, wig or extension gets neither. Once it leaves your head it is on its own, so everything you do to it either preserves it or wears it down. That is the whole reason hairpiece care is a category.

Sulfates strip it

Harsh detergents lift the cuticle and pull moisture out of hair that has no way to replace it. That is what turns a soft piece straw dry in a few months.

Heavy silicones coat it

Drugstore conditioners can leave a film that builds up, dulls the shine and stops moisture getting in. On a piece that never gets washed out at the roots, that builds fast.

Heat without protection ends it

Blow drying, curling and flat ironing a piece with no heat protectant is the single fastest way to ruin one. Hair that cannot repair itself does not recover.

We recommend using this quality of product on your own hair too, not just on your topper, wig or extensions.

Everything above is just as true of the hair growing out of your head. The difference is only that your own hair hides the damage for a while, because your scalp keeps feeding it oil and it regrows. Sulfates still strip it, heavy silicones still build up on it and heat with no protection still breaks it. You simply notice it later instead of not at all, and by then you are cutting off the ends.

There is a second reason, and it is the one stylists care about. When your own hair and your piece are washed, conditioned and heat protected with the same quality of product, they behave the same way. They dry at the same rate, hold a curl the same way and catch the light the same way, and that is a large part of why a topper or a set of extensions blends and disappears. Running a gentle routine on your piece and a stripping one on your own hair pulls the two apart over time, and it is one of the quieter reasons a piece that matched beautifully in the salon stops matching a few months later.

Extension Shampoo

A gentle, sulfate free cleanse for human hair toppers, wigs and extensions. Washes out product and oil without stripping the hair. Use it on your own hair too.

Extension Conditioner

Puts moisture back where your scalp cannot. Light enough that it will not weigh a piece down or build up at the wefts and knots.

Moisture Repair Spray

A leave in for hair that has gone dry or has started to feel rough. Detangles, softens and adds slip before you brush, which is where most breakage happens.

Moisture Hydrate Spray, Heat Protectant

Use this before any hot tool, on your piece and on your own hair. Non negotiable on a human hair piece, because heat damage on hair that cannot regrow is permanent.

Argan Oil Serum

A finishing oil for shine and frizz control on the mid lengths and ends. A little goes a long way. Works on your own hair as well.

Root Coverage Powder

Fills a part line, softens a grow out and blends the scalp area. Useful whether you are wearing a piece or not.

Hair care questions

Can I use this on a wig or hair topper from another brand?
Yes. These products are made for human hair, not for one company's hair, so they work on any brand of human hair topper, wig or extension. Many of our hair care customers wear a piece they bought somewhere else. The only thing to check is that your piece is human hair rather than synthetic, because synthetic fibre needs its own products.
Can I use it on my own hair too?
Yes, all of it, and we recommend that you do. The shampoo, conditioner, moisture repair spray, heat protectant and argan oil serum are all safe on your own growing hair, and the root coverage powder is made for a part line whether you wear a piece or not. Using the same quality on both is better for your own hair, and it also keeps your hair and your piece behaving the same way, which is a large part of why a topper or extensions blend properly.
Why can I not just use my normal drugstore shampoo?
You can, but it shortens the life of your piece. Most supermarket shampoos use sulfates to make them lather, and sulfates strip moisture from hair. Your own hair replaces that moisture from your scalp. A human hair topper, wig or extension cannot, so every wash takes a little more out than it puts back, and after a few months the piece feels dry and coarse. A sulfate free shampoo is the single biggest thing you can change, and your own hair benefits from the same switch.
How often should I wash my hair topper or wig?
Far less often than your own hair. For daily wear, every 10 to 15 wears is a reasonable guide, or sooner if it feels heavy with product. Wash it by hand rather than on your head, in cool water, working the shampoo through gently rather than scrubbing, and never twist or wring it. Conditioner goes on the mid lengths and ends, keeping it off the knots at the base.
Do I really need a heat protectant?
If you use a blow dryer, curling iron or flat iron on your piece, yes. This is the product people skip and the one that causes the most damage we see. Your own hair grows out of the damage over time. A hairpiece does not, so heat damage on it is permanent and it is what takes a piece from three years of life down to one. Use it on your own hair as well, for the same reason in slower motion.
My piece has gone dry and tangled. Can it be brought back?
Usually, yes, if the hair is human and it has not been heat damaged. Wash gently with a sulfate free shampoo, condition the mid lengths and ends, then use the moisture repair spray as a leave in and detangle with a wide tooth comb from the ends upward, never from the roots down. Argan oil serum on the ends afterwards helps it look like itself again. What cannot be reversed is heat damage.
Are these products safe on colour treated hair?
Yes. Because the shampoo is sulfate free it is gentler on colour than most, whether that colour is on your own hair or on a piece a stylist has toned or hand coloured for you. If your stylist has put a toner or a hand coloured root into your topper or wig, a gentle shampoo is what keeps that work looking right for longer.
